Something must be grounding out when you turn the ignition on, probably happened when the previous owner ripped it out.To fix a car radio that won't turn on, verify that the head unit isn't in anti-theft mode. If the head unit isn't powering on, use basic car diagnostic tools to test the automotive fuse and any built-in fuses. You should also test the pigtail connector, check the head unit's power wires, and check for poor head unit grounds.

Some mobile phones and MP3 players filter high and low frequencies to make earbuds sound better or to prevent distortion, and this function on your headunit attempts to "undo" that
The head unit is just driving two door speakers without an amp. My phone is a Google Pixel, but I've been able to use that phone with OEM systems without skipping. I've also installed a Kenwood DDX9903S in a different car just using chassis ground and bluetooth doesn't skip there.Power Surges: 3.
